Staff Changes
We would like to welcome Julie Small to the Cottage. She will be working on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons in the Caterpillar sessions.
We are looking for a Special Educational Needs Pre-School Assistant to work initially on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 12.00 –2.45 pm switching to mornings in September 2008. If you are interested in this position please request an application pack, closing date 10th March 2008.
Holiday Club
The Holiday Club is becoming increasingly popular, especially the Themed Activity days. The next Holiday Club will take place during the week beginning 31st March where a variety of activities will be organised, details of which will be advertised on posters around school once confirmed.
Wednesday 2nd April Craft session – Monster & Animal masks (confirmed)
Call in or telephone (01258 840679 or 07979 611215) to make your bookings as soon as possible in order not to be disappointed.
A Questionnaire will be distributed at Easter to discover parents views on how these sessions are working and whether there are any improvements we can make.
Ofsted Action Plan
An Action Plan has been drawn up and a copy of this will be available soon on our website. Some of the issues raised are already being addressed:
· Staff will be attending First Aid training over the next few weeks.
· Attendance records have been amended.
· A form to record visible injuries, unusual markings or illness on arrival at the setting, as requested by Ofsted, has been produced and is attached.
· Training for the new Early Years Foundation Stage will commence from September 2008 onwards.
The Cottage Cartons and Communication books have in general been well received. If anyone has any ideas to improve on this system please let a member of staff or Committee member know.
May Fayre
This will take place on Saturday 17th May from 10.30 until 1.00 pm and the Cottage will be running the Refreshment stall. Any parents that are able to help us out for half an hour please put your name on the list, which will be in the Cottage after Easter.
Parent Open Evening
Thank you to all parents who returned their reply slip, we are looking forward to meeting you on Tuesday 4th March at 8.00 pm. Anybody still wishing to come along please let us know.
